Demystifying Blockchain and Smart Contracts

June 20, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

$22

Presentation Summary:

Blockchain technologies and related applications, including smart contracts, are increasingly being viewed as a way for a wide variety of industries to enhance operational efficiencies and cut costs. However, smart contract applications are still in their relatively early stages of development, resulting in a significant amount of confusion regarding what smart contracts actually are, what role they may play in blockchain ecosystems, and what standards (both legal or technical) exist, if any, to guide their implementations.  This presentation will seek to discuss what blockchains and smart contracts are, how smart contracts fit into the blockchain context, and some actual or potential use cases for smart contracts as blockchain applications.
