$22Optimize! Increase the Efficiency and Velocity of Your Law Practice – Tech Tips from the Trenches
The law changes quickly, and nowhere faster than Technology Law. Previous best practices are overtaken by more incisive, more productive, more focused techniques. This CLE presents the best such “tips and tricks” specifically directed to technology lawyers. Learn effective solutions you can use today to improve your technology practice!
Presenters:
Leigh Gill – IP Transactions
Leigh’s technology law and business practice is informed by his prior career in software. Having been on the inside of three companies as they went through dramatic growth, Leigh seeks to apply lessons learned as well as his experiences to growing companies facing similar trajectories. Leigh focuses on providing real time, effective, and informed legal advice to companies and founders at inflection points. Ideas are powerful and by enabling a business to share their ideas with the world (while keeping control over them) and planning for the future, innovation can occur.
Tricia Juettemeyer – Copyright & Trademark
Tricia is an intellectual property and business attorney at Immix Law Group. She took a winding path to the law, starting with art school, working in post-production, heading to library school, working for many years as an academic librarian, along the way gathering copyright knowledge so integral to that work. She couldn’t quite shake the desire to learn more about copyright law, leading her to law school where she focused her studies in the area of intellectual property. She joined Immix after graduating and has been whiling away her days advising clients on business and intellectual property, most often in the areas of trademark and copyright, teaching Business Associations as an adjunct for the University of Oregon law school, and preparing to teach an undergraduate course focused on intellectual property in business in the Spring of 2019.
Dave Madden – Email & Storage
Dave is the principal attorney of Mersenne Law. He’s admitted in California and Oregon, and registered to practice at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He is also an electrical engineer and computer programmer with a degree from Johns Hopkins University, and he’s spent more than thirty years poking around inside computers and networks. Having worked in the technology industry (both stodgy old-school companies and new-kids startups), Dave brings a real-world perspective to every aspect of his law practice – one that his clients find immensely valuable as they navigate the legal process. Dave is an author and frequent speaker on a number of technology-related subjects affecting individuals and businesses, including Internet security and data breach liability. For fun, he defends Internet subscribers from “Copyright Troll” movie downloading lawsuits. In his spare time, Dave is a tinkerer, inventor, foodie and motorcycle enthusiast with a love for the open road.
Karen Oster – Patent
For over twenty-five years Karen has been assisting businesses and individuals turn ideas into patents. As a solo-practitioner, she is constantly trying to find quality solutions that are time and cost effective.
