Given the rapid adoption of AI tools and the high stakes involved when AI an IP collide, it’s more important than ever to understand the scope of the IP indemnity in your AI services contracts. Join us for an informative session + Q&A where we’ll discuss how modern AI services function; what the market standard for IP indemnity in AI services contracts looks like; and common tactics used to shift, exclude, and/or nullify IP indemnity obligations.

Dan Housley
Associate Director, IP Law Department, Kyndryl
Dan is an Associate Director in the IP Law Dept. at Kyndryl – the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider. His expertise covers open-source licensing, AI services contracts, business transactions, IP assignments, and anything else that intersects with IP. He has also prepared & prosecuted hundreds of patents while at IBM & at Klarquist Sparkman. Dan manages Kyndryl’s IP Law Internship Program, helps lead the LGBTQIA+ ERG, and was Kyndryl’s 2024 Fellow to the Leadership Council On Legal Diversity. He is an Adjunct Professor at Lewis & Clark Law School, and the founding President of the Oregon IP Alliance.
