In this CLE\, you’ll hear from a former FTC attorney and FTC practitioners about the major overhaul of the Safeguards Rule that went live last year\, a proposed revision that would require data breach notifications\, and the FTC’s new GLB legal theory. \n  \nSpeaker Bios \nChristopher Leach is a litigation partner in Kirkland’s Washington\, D.C.\, office. As a former attorney with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC)\, his practice focuses on consumer-facing issues\, including data privacy\, false advertising\, marketing practices and other aspects of customer acquisition. He represents and advises clients in a broad range of industries\, including the fintech\, financial services\, food and beverage\, automotive and telecommunications industries\, defending those companies in litigation\, before government agencies and in self-regulatory proceedings such as the National Advertising Division (NAD). \n  \nAndrea deLorimier is a litigation associate in the Austin office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Her practice focuses primarily on consumer protection\, antitrust\, and commercial litigation matters. Andrea has particular experience representing companies in consumer protection investigations brought by the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general\, including investigations relating to advertising substantiation\, data privacy and security\, endorsements\, social media and ESG issues.
